Description
Fadini K424.1L DARDO 424 Above-Ground 24V Gate Kit | VIX 53 System
Overview
Automating residential gates without complex driveway excavation demands a reliable, surface-mounted solution. The Fadini DARDO 424 K424.1L system mounts cleanly behind the gate leaves, applying direct mechanical leverage over the structural frame. Because the internal gear components ride on high-grade radial bearings and self-lubricating bushings, the rams operate with a virtually silent, fluid cadence, ensuring your entranceways open rapidly and smoothly in approximately 16 to 20 seconds.
The Dardo 424 protects your gate structure from long-term mechanical stress. Managed by the microprocessors in the Elpro 42 Logic Box, the rams utilize electronic slowdown braking to steadily decelerate the gate leaves as they arrive at their destination limits. This gentle soft-stop functionality prevents structural twisting, eliminates annoying gate rattling, and keeps the mechanism locked rigid against strong winds when fully closed.
Key Features
-
Weather-Hardened Chassis: Protected by a heavy-duty, pressure-cast aluminum cover shell treated with a premium polyester powder coating to fight off UV degradation and severe frost.
-
Unified Security Lock Lid: Features a single, ergonomic manual key release system where the same customized key unlocks the protective ram lid and disengages the internal gear track during power outages.
-
D.S.A. Safety Check Logic: The Elpro 42 logic controller forces a diagnostic self-test across your safety photobeams before authorizing a cycle, ensuring the perimeter is safe before movement begins.
-
Flexible Stroke Range: Out of the box, the ram provides a 320mm useful stroke with the internal stops fitted. (Removing the internal stops extends travel by an extra 60mm if you prefer using physical ground stops).

Trade Installation & Geometry Calibration Tip
Pro Tip: Because the Dardo 424 is an above-ground linear ram, achieving a smooth travel cycle without motor “stuttering” relies heavily on getting your installation dimensions (the A & B measurements from the hinge center to the rear bracket pin) completely balanced.
The Professional Method: For gates wider than 2.0 meters, Fadini strongly recommends installing an electric lock to protect the internal brass nut from structural leverage forces if the gate is subjected to heavy wind pressure or vandalism. When setting up your internal mechanical stop plates inside the top ram cover, ensure they are adjusted so that the motor finishes its deceleration cycle just as the ram arm encounters the stop plate. This guarantees a firm, rattle-free closure without placing unnecessary strain on the rear post brackets.
