Because the system is hydraulic, it lacks internal mechanical gears that can strip or chip over time. Pro Tip: When installing a double-locking hydraulic operator like the Aproli 280 BATT, the system relies entirely on solid structural limit stops. It is mandatory to fit physical structural ground stops for the gate leaves in both the fully open and fully closed positions.
The Professional Method: Because this model locks hydraulically in both directions, you must program the Elpro 27 control panel’s run-time clock to run for 4 to 5 seconds longer than the physical travel time of the gate (e.g., if the gate takes 23 seconds to reach the closed stop, set the motor timer to 27 seconds). This extra run time forces the hydraulic pump to press the gate leaf firmly against the ground stop, pressurizing the bidirectional block valves. This self-bleeds any micro-air bubbles out of the internal hydraulic jack and locks the gate frame in place.
